Although I tend to go for floral infused candles on the reg (think freesia, lavender, rose) there’s something so inviting of a musky, masculine scent. I blame it on the cooler weather in the forecast but at this time of year I want a candle that fills a room, and this one does just that. The Mahogany Teakwood scent from White Barn carries notes of mahogany, cedarwood, and oak and hints of lavender and geranium. This breaks away from the feminine qualities of most candles and lends to an uber strong scent. I’ll be real though, this thing is STRONG. Like, can give you a headache strong if you keep it on so long. I find myself lighting it for 20 minutes at a time then blowing it out, leaving the room in a cloud of delicious scents (which would actually make it perfect for anyone on the go).
For those who aren’t aware, White Barn is the new ‘sister store’ of Bath & Body Works. They focus specifically on being a boutique for candles – and surprisingly enough even carry Henri Bendel ones (my personal favorite)! I love how they minimized the cheesiness of the B&B brand and focused on more simple packaging.
Mahogany and Teakwood is the perfect transition candle from Summer to Autumn – without automatically jumping on the Pumpkin Spice and Apple bandwagon. I also am a huge fan of the French Lavender scent, which is a bit more clean and light. I currently have that one sitting on my bedside table for nighttime.
