April Beauty Favorites

I know I keep harping on how horrible the weather is in DC lately, but it is really bad! Nothing stirs your mood like 14 days of gloominess with no sunshine in sight. So instead, i’ve been *attempting* to channel the sun’s glow on my face – aka why a lot of the products that have been my favorites this month are super shimmery and warm-toned.

Lips

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer High Volume Lip Plumper, Pink 001

Can you say this name five times fast? Oof! This little sample – which, by the way is the cutest thing ever – came in my Dior points reward a month or so ago and I’ve been in love ever since. It comes with promises of making your lips noticeably fuller after 15 days of use. Can I prove this? No, but I can say that I do love this gloss for day in and day out. It has a soft vanilla mint smell that is so tingly and nice on the lips. The formula is also uber glossy and gives a nice sheen of color. I’ve been layering it over my Clinique Woppin Watermelon stick for a juicy pop of color! There also is a nude/pink shade that would look lovely on those looking for a darker lip.

Eyes

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize, Mona Lisa

I keep doing this thing where my favorites run the same from month to month. As I typed this up I realized that this cream eyeshadow was also part of March’s favorites! I guess that means I love it a lot (which is true). These shadows are just so easy to apply. I pop a bit on my finger and tap over my lid, then blend with a fluffy brush. Add in a coat of mascara and i’m out the door! I also feel like these are so long-lasting – which is perfect for the humidity we’ve been having lately.

Face

Mary-Lou Manizer

It Cosmetics CC+

I’m someone who loves a glow year-round but especially slathers it on when the weather heats up. As I’ve been feeling a bit pale lately, my DiorSkin foundation hasn’t been matching up. Instead I’ve been pulling out my It Cosmetics CC+ cream foundation, which in turn gives me super hydrated skin. I love that this provides coverage for any spots but you can still see your skin. Layered on top, I’ve been taking a break from my usual Champagne Pop highlighter for a bit and broke back out the Mary-Lou Manizer. This shade is a bit more yellow-toned than Jaclyn’s pick but is so gorgeously pigmented! Just a light sweep on the cheekbones and under the brow is all I need to get a full-on glow.

BONUS!

Miss Dior Perfume

Along with the pumping gloss mentioned above my Dior reward also had a mini size of the Miss Dior perfume. This is one of those scents that I’ve smelled on friends and LOVED – queueing a “what are you wearing?” request – so I was super excited to try it for myself. I did find that too much of the scent can be a bit of an overkill and left me with a headache. However, when I only applied it sparingly it left a beautiful warm, sweet, and spicy scent with notes of mandarin, jasmine, and patchouli. This is the perfect scent for Spring! Also, the mini bottle will come super handy with all of the trips I have planned.

What have you been loving this month? Hopefully it’s involving some warmer weather than what we’re having!
