Although we’re steadily into March, it’s time to look back on what I was loving in February. Things remained pretty consistent around here: a light base, flushed cheeks, and rosy eyes.
Lips
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick, 08
This lipstick was one that I pulled out from the back of my drawers. I snagged it a while back when the Kylie lip trend first hit the message boards, and wore it non-stop. It’s a beautiful mauve shade with a slighttttt hint of brown (trust me, I can’t do brown but I can do this color). Kate’s Rimmel line is a great option when you want something that’s going to last, but don’t feel like selling a kidney to pay for it.
Eyes
NYX Slim Eye Pencil, White
e.l.f. Long Lasting Lustrous Shadow, Soiree
Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil, Taupe
I’ve been trying to get in a better morning routine – which includes showering bright-and-early (instead of at night) and putting on my favorite music while sipping coffee. While this sounds great in theory, it’s realistically left me with less time to get myself together. More focus on easing into the day, less on perfecting my wing liner. I love the combination of a rosy eye with a pop of white in the water line. Pinky hues work with my complexion and this shadow is so beautiful and shimmery. I can pop some on my lids with my fingers and blend out for a quick-and-easy look. I then swipe the liner in my water line to brighten my eyes, since we all know how #Iwokeuplikethis really looks: bleary-eyed. Lastly, I run the ABH brow pencil through my brows to clean them up a bit. Anastasia really can’t do wrong when it comes to brow products. I lived for my Brow Wiz for months, and actually accidentally picked up the pencil in my last purchase. It is definitely a softer formula and has a larger nib but I find it to be very precise when I sharpen it.
Face
Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer
Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation, Light Beige
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush, Ecstacy
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, Light Warm
This combo of face products is hands down my favorite mix ever. I ran out of my Hangover primer a month or so ago and my skin automatically craved it. It sets the perfect hydrating base for my Dior Serum foundation – which I can say is seriously so amazing. I did a full review of it here and have been wearing it nonstop every day since. I also am so surprised at how much I love the UD concealer now. I’m hitting the dredges of it this morning, and need to run out and get another bottle. Lastly, this CT blush gives such a lovely glow when swept onto my cheeks.
Let me know what you’ve been loving in the comments below! I have a feeling next month’s favorites are going to include lots of color!
