January Beauty Favorites

ICYMI: January was a no-spend month for me. Yes, lets take a moment of silence to remember all of the fallen products that remained in my online shopping cart and not in my hands. However this little break gave me a chance to re-try out some old favorites and to narrow down to things I really love.

Lips

MAC Lip Pencil, Boldly Bare

YSL Rouge Pur Couture, 9 Rose Stilleto

This month was more rose/mauve tones and less pink ones. I never really got on with the Kylie lip trend, but I feel like Boldly Bare goes light on the brown hues (therefore fitting my skintone much better). Most people tend to use it all over their lips – which again, is a bit too dark for me. However I found that when I wanted a little oomph in my lips it was perfect as an outer liner. I then use my new YSL lipstick to fill in the lips. First off, can we comment on how gorgeous the packaging is?! I’m a fiend for anything YSL related. They always make everything look so chic and glam, while staying edgy. OKAY back to the point: this lipstick. The formula is so creamy and smooth, and the color is beautiful medium pink. The only downside I can say is that it has a flowery scent (which can be a hit or miss for you) and that the color only lasts for about two hours. Otherwise, it’s a love/love sitch going on.

Eyes

bareMinerals Eyecolor, Bare Skin

Maybelline Lash Sensational, Blackest Black

I use to use this BareMinerals shadow nonstop in Summer, but gave it a hefty break once the season changed. The other day I pulled it out from the back of my makeup drawer and fell in love with it again. This blush/taupe colored pigment can be layered so beautifully on the eye. I usually apply it with a damp brush for a soft look. As per my last few favorites, I always finish off my eye look with the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I use to be a mascara hoarder but I can’t seem to stop using this one. In other news, my bank account cry tears of joy.

Face

NARS Blush, Orgasm

It Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC Cream with SPF 50+, Light

This blush has sadly fallen wayside to my bathroom floor, but it hasn’t stopped me from using its beautiful crumbs on my face. As you can guess this shade gives cheeks the perfect flush of color. I have a feeling this will have a permanent place in my collection for a long time. Face-wise, I harped on the It Cosmetics CC+ cream in my yearly favorites (check it out here) so I’ll save you all the reading. It’s a goodie though and I always seem to pull it out when my skins feeling a bit rough.
