Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation Review

If 2015 was the year of lipstick then 2016 is the year of foundation (so far). I’ve always had trouble finding a good foundation in the past – I feel like it was difficult to find something that gave my skin a natural look, had coverage, but didn’t feel cakey. However, we’re only two months into the near year and I already have three foundations that I love.My latest purchase is the Dior Nude Air serum foundation and you guys, it’s magic. For those who haven’t used a serum foundation before it’s definitely something you should try out. For some background, serum foundations are great for those who want the lightness of a BB cream but the coverage of a regular foundation. I literally can take a few drops of the ultra-fluid consistency and have it blend easily over my entire face. I usually only need a layer – but do add a little extra if my skin is acting up. As an extra bonus? The formula is made with glazed pigments which is meant to create a soft-focus effect. This leaves the face looking uber smooth and lit from within. Combined with an Hourglass Lighting Powder to set, and you’re golden!

The Nude Air foundation comes in seven different shades (I use Light Beige) but it does oxidize a bit so make sure you give it a good swatch. It’s also important to use the correct brush to apply the foundation. Go for something that is dense but has longer bristles. I use the BareMinerals bareSkin Perfecting Face Brush but Dior also has its own fluid foundation brush. Just shake the bottle, place a few drops onto your brush, and blend out and around the face for a natural finish.

I’ve been using this foundation non-stop since I’ve gotten it, and have found that it works great for both day and night. Even though there’s SPF20 included I never feel washed out with flash. Wham bam, thank you ma’am. I also love the soft and luxe fragrance that the foundation has. It is a bit of a higher price point but since you’re only using a few drops each time I think it’s totally worth it!

Have any of you tried a serum foundation yet? Do you like it more than a typical liquid foundation? Love to know if you’ve given it – or others – a whirl!
