Weekly Favorites: New Year Edition | 1.3.15.

Back into real world mode – and so not ready for it! After a week plus of lounging back home in NJ, I’m now back and settled into my apartment and thinking about all of the things I’d rather be doing than going to work tomorrow. That seems like everyone’s thoughts, right? In real talk though, I am excited to get back into the swing of things. Yesterday was a bit of a regroup for me: packing, hydrating everything, face masking, and lots of catching up. Now I’m excited to officially carry in the New Year with lots of caffeine and stamina! With the site rebranding in the books I wanted to share a bit of my inspiration for the upcoming year.

More travel I traveled to more new + exciting places in 2015 than I have in a while. I am so excited to do the same this year – even if they’re just areas within an hour’s drive. There’s just something so fun and refreshing about stepping away from reality for a minute and I always come back from the trips so inspired. On my list this year? NYC, Miami, London, and maybe even another round to LA.

More modern, investment pieces I have spent the later part of 2015 cleaning out my wardrobe and it feels so dang good! I’m the kind of girl who walks into a Forever21 bi-weekly and always finds the latest trends that I just HAVE to have. In reality? The crop tops and knits fall apart within a few wears and then fall into the back of my closet. This year I want to invest in nicer quality pieces that’ll last a lot longer. Currently I have my eyes on a new leather jacket, chunky knits, and *fingers crossed* an iconic YSL bag. Because really, isn’t a new bag the accessory that makes everything look better?

More glitter This. I’m not just talking about glitter beauty-wise (even though that is a top priority). I’m talking about excitement, the sparkle of a new city or new friends or a new night out; being more free with yourself and taking risks; and genuinely just letting go and having fun. I definitely can be a bit hard on myself so this year I want to say ‘yes’ more.  Yes to another glass of rose, yes to lunch dates with yourself, yes to not caring as much over petty things, yes to trying something that terrifies you, and yes to working your butt off to get what you want. #selflove people, it’s filled with glitter.
