December Beauty Favorites

Whoops! I missed out on November favorites – due to an uber busy travel schedule. But frankly, December’s beauty stayed pretty close to my normal routine; while adding in more glitter. It was all about a dramatic golden eye and fresh/light touches elsewhere. Although I did pull out the stops for my Christmas beauty (think red lips and smoky eyes), I tended to lean towards more natural hues for the rest of the month.

Lips

Clinique Chubby Stick, Woppin Watermelon

I’m actually surprised this product has only been in one of my favorites list so far, since it’s amazeballs. I pop it into my purse daily and can’t get enough of it. The shade is the perfect pop of pink that is pigmented enough for color, but not overbearing. The formula is so creamy, super hydrating for the cold month, and slightly glossy, but not sticky. Need I say more? I also love how the packaging is in tube form so it can be easily touched up throughout the day without a mirror. YOU JUST GET ME, WW!

Eyes

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, Blackest Black

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner, Urban Cowboy

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize, Bette

These products are utter magic! First off, I’ve found a new love for the Lash Sensational mascara and have been wearing it daily. It’s the only mascara I go for – which is saying something since I own about five other tubes. It took me a while to figure out how to use the brush to get the best results but now I’m left with long jet-black lashes. The ecstasy piece in this round-up, and perfect PIC to long lashes, is this glitter eyeliner from Urban Decay. Holy cow, glamazons! This stuff. I picked up the bottle randomly a few weeks ago thinking it’d be great for New Years but didn’t really try it out on a full look. Then I saw a recent tutorial by Jaclyn Hill where she rocked a gold sparkly eye and thought “Whatever she’s wearing, I need it!”. Thankfully enough I found that it was the liner I already own! I then proceeded to run into my bathroom and pull out this little bottle for a full-out glammed Wednesday night sitting on my couch at home. The applicator is so precise but applies a great amount of product, the formula is extremely long-lasting and finishes so nicely, and the coloring is absolutely gorgeous! I layered about two coats on my lids and could not stop looking at them. Now I’m counting down the days in my spending break until I can pick up another bottle. Next? Probably the Spandex color (great name btw). Lastly, this cream eyeshadow by Charlotte Tilbury has been on the top of my makeup stand since I bought it. It’s perfect alone, but also can be the first layer for a super golden/bronzed eye. It gives the perfect golden sheen and does not budge or crease. A-freakin-men!

Other

Elizabeth and James, Nirvana White

I had been looking for a second fragrance for a while – beyond my Marc Jacob’s Daisy – and wasn’t sure which route I wanted to go. I love scents that are super clean and light but aren’t flowery. I’ve heard so much about the fragrance release from the Olsens and fell in love with the lighter scent when I sprayed it for the first time. With notes of delicate peony, chic muguet, and tender musk, this scent is the best blend of feminine with a sophisticated darkness. I ended up finding a full scent pack (perfume bottle, perfume oil, rollerball) for under $50 during the break and immediately snatched it up! Unfortunately I only see the Black set online, but check out your local store for holiday discounts.

Next week I’ll be rounding up my favorite products for the year and am interested to see what makes the cut! Stay tuned…
