The annual Sephora VIB sale is legitimately like a beauty lover’s idea of Christmas. Sephora is a brand that rarely does sales, so when they do everyone pays attention. For me the extra 20% off was a chance to purchase the items i’ve been eyeing up forever – while also stocking up on a few favorites that have been running out.
New Finds
I’ve been having a major obsession with everything Kat Von D at the moment. Inspired by her tattoo artistry, all of Kat’s items are extremely high pigmented, blendable, and set for the long haul. Her Shade and Light contour palette has been on my radar since its release and I was so happy to finally pick it up. This palette is filled with three ‘light’ shades (which I’ve been applying under my eyes and in my T zone to set my concealer) and three ‘shade’ shades (which I’ve been using as my contour). The colors are so easy to blend and give the skin the perfect finish. I also find it so interesting that the concept is based off of her sketches and the usage of shadows and lights in facial features. The Shade and Light Contour Brush is the perfect counterpart for application. With a two sided wand it allows you to seamlessly use the product while keeping things precise. The bristles are so soft and I love that it comes in this protective case for traveling.Another KVD favorite is the Metal Crush Eyeshadow I picked up in Raw Power – a beautiful cranberry color. You guys, this stuff is amazing! The formula is amazingly pigmented and buttery. There are 11 gorgeous shades – some for the not faint of heart – however Raw Power is the most amazing fall shade. I’d love to see the brighter shades (such as Paranoid, the metallic Cobalt shade) as an eyeliner but I think that the other more neutral shades are great for everyday wear.
Old Loves
With the 20% discount I also wanted to make sure to stock up on products that are running a bit low. Why does it always seem like all of my makeup runs out at one time? It’s truly inconvenient. I also snagged an extra NARS Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and another Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe. Not even joking, my last pomade had lasted me for a year and a half so it wasn’t too shocking to grab another. This stuff is SUPER long-lasting, and at $18 a pop it’s a great investment!
Did you snag anything from the Sephora sale? What is on your beauty wish list? Bonus points if you recognize the four little fellas peepin’ out of my palette mirror!
