#OOTD: Fall Exploring

With all of the busy busy going on this Fall, it has become harder to sneak away and capture the changing season. D.C. is a bit limited when it comes to foliage – compared to the North – but we were able to find a pocket of golden hues on Theodore Roosevelt Island. For those unfamiliar with the area, the island was transformed in the 30s by landscape architects as a memorial to the late President. They conceived a ‘real forest’ that was to mimic the natural forest that once covered the island. There are tons of gorgeous trails around the area which allow you to escape the city.

We were lucky enough to have a gorgeous Fall day. It truly felt like the leaves shone a bit brighter and the sky was a bit bluer. This outfit definitely isn’t the most chic but surprisingly shows three items that have been on heavy rotation lately: my olive anorak jacket, tan bobble hat, and reflective sunnies. Layers have been my best friend lately and are so fun to mix-and-match with.

All in all I’m already sad to have Fall slip away from us. I feel like my body is going to be all out of sort with the 20-degree weather out there now, LA in less than two weeks, and then the ongoing cycle of warm/cold days. Bring on the Vitamin C…
