October Favorites

As my girl Mindy would say: “whoaaaaa mama!” November, I don’t know what you’re doing here already but hello! This year I have been getting into the Christmas spirit much earlier than usual. I’m already so excited for cozy sweaters, red Starbucks cups, and my Michael Buble album. I may have even brought out my Lenox Santa mugs last weekend…For me the the holiday season is all about bringing me home and back to simplicity. My makeup usually follows that (a light foundation base, cat eye flick, and of course a red lip), so I tend to use October as an excuse to pull out all of the last warm and cozy colors. These staples have been on rotation daily and are things that I can’t ever see myself without.

Face
Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Foundation, 101 and 102
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, Dim Light

I’ve been a fan of this foundation for a while now but unfortunately October feels like the last month I can truly wear it. I have been wearing a mix between Classic Ivory 101 and Shell Beige 102 while my tan is fading. Unfortunately the 102 is getting a bit dark for me and the 101 doesn’t provide enough coverage so I’ll need to switch up my foundation come November. Otherwise, the formula is so amazing and lightweight while creating a super natural finish. I have been setting my foundation and concealer with my Hourglass ambient lighting powder – which was a favorite from last month as well because it’s just so good! I love how it gives skin a flawless finish and natural glow without overloading everything with a powdery finish.

Lips
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss, Pango Peach
MAC Lip Liner, Boldly Bare
CoverGirl Colorlicious Jumbo Gloss Balm, Blush Twist 210

This Revlon gloss has made it’s way into my favorites for this month as well. It’s the perfect dupe for my NARS lipglosses, and for a much less cost. I’m looking to pick up some new shades since the formula is fantastic but the Pango Peach shade is the best complement to all of my nude lip choices lately. Speaking of nude lip choices: I snagged the ever-popular Boldy Bare from MAC and haven’t looked back. Although it is still a bit too brown for my complexion, it matches perfectly with my bare lipsticks. I’ve been either wearing it on its own all over the lip (with a gloss on top) or as a liner to my CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm. This stuff is magic and never leaves my handbag. It reminds me of the Clinique Chubby Sticks but is more of a lipstick than a balm. It’s so easy to apply straight from the tube to the lips and gives a great long-lasting color.

Eyes

LORAC Unzipped Gold Palette

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, Trooper

Maybelline The Falsies Push-Up Mascara, Blackest Black

MAC Eyeshadows, Coppering and Brown Script

I did a full review on this LORAC palette last month but it is liquid gold! The shades are so buttery and pigmented, yet remain easy to blend out. I’ve been using them on their own or layering the coppered Unleashed shade over my red-brown shadows for a glowing look. Speaking of my favorite red-brown shadows, these MAC ones have been continuing to be my favorites. I can’t wait to pop back over to the store to snag some new ones. I see a very large palette in my near future. The Kat Von D liner was a favorite last month and continues to be now. Once I find a good black liner there’s no going back – and I don’t plan to with this one. It applies seamlessly over shadows and is precise enough for a somewhat easy cat flick. Whenever I use the liner I tend to layer a ton of black mascara on top, and The Falsies has been my go-to. It isn’t the best at lengthening but does give super plumped and jet black lashes!

I’m so excited to see the transition into winter favorites, and what remains in my makeup bag. What have you been loving lately? Have you tried any of these pieces?
