Weekly Favorites: Week of 6.7.15

Another weekend in the books. This one was a little less eventful – in the best way possible. Friday was spent sippin’ some sangria at Jazz in the Garden in the National Sculpture Garden. For those who live in DC and haven’t been to a JITG Friday yet: GO! It’s seriously so much fun and it’s perfect for bringing a blanket and some snacks to. Just make sure you get there a little bit early to beat the crowds. After soaking in some jazz and excitement, we headed over to one of my favorite bars called Hill Country. DC isn’t necessarily known for Country bars so that’s why I was so happy to find this one. Something about the atmosphere just always makes us feel like home. Plus, they serve their beer in mason bars, have live music, and make some of the best mac and cheese and brisket! Ya can’t go wrong.

On Saturday morning me and Lydia popped over to the mall. She got a haircut and I had a chance to return some items. After refueling with Chick-fil-A and iced chai lattes, we headed over to a friend’s house for drinks, sun, and mega jenga. So fun! We topped off the night at a local biergarten that housed 1lb pretzels. Hellooooo carbs!

Sunday was a bit more tame with some pool time and a trip to TJ Maxx and Target. I picked up a few extra things for our trip to OBX this weekend – along with two amazing maxi dresses. Hopefully I’ll be able to snag some photos while wearing them on the beach!

It’s the last week before vacation so i’m sure it will be simultaneously hectic and exciting. Somehow I packed majority of my bags last night, but I always forget about all of the little tasks I need to do before heading away on a trip. Here are some of the things (albeit beach focused) that are keeping me motivated this week:

Starbucks Fan Favorites | As an avid Starbucks lover, the email I received this morning made me want to do a happy dance. In honor of the Frappucino’s 20th anniversary, Starbucks is offering fan favorite combinations in stores: think red velvet cake, cotton candy, cinnamon roll, lemon bar, caramel cocoa cluster, and cupcake. Oh. Em. Gee. You all know how I love a Frapp gimmick

Fashion from the TONYs | The TONY awards always bring the classic glam – and last night was no exception. Some of my favorites included Amanda Seyfried, Joan Small, and Bella Hadid (Joe Manganiello and Nick Jonas, you weren’t so bad yourselves).

12 Best Restaurants in VA | Virginia is for lovers, and amazing local food.

Italian Chicken Bake | Still thinking about what to make for dinner? Look no more. This recipe is super easy and so delicious! Best part is that it’s only four ingredients and can last you for the work week.

Pineapple Ring | Pineapples are definitely this summer’s biggest trend – and this ring is the perfect way to subtly rock your love for the sweet fruit.

Beach Favorites | Old Navy is simply killin’ the game lately. I’m loving their new styles and there seems to always be a great sale! These lace-up sandals and this straw tote are calling my name. Best part is they’re currently offering 30% off of everything with code HAPPY.

Realistic Weight Loss Tips | Kick off your week with these realistic health tips from one of my favorite bloggers. My attempts to substitute my favorite rose with mint tea starts now… (slowly crying)

Make this week a good one!
