February Favorites

I realize that I’m a little late in the game for February favorites but it’s the thought that counts, right? Last month I incorporated a few new products into my daily beauty routine and also continued to be in love with my cult favorites. I’ve always been one for a smokey eye but lately have been softening things up. My eyes are one of my favorite features so I’ve always had fun playing them up – explaining why three of my favorite products revolve around my peepers…

Urban Decay’s “BluntThis brand has swiftly become my favorite. Their products are always super pigmented and easy to use. Plus, their funky names and shiny packaging always draw me in. This shade is so much more natural than what I usually wear. It almost blends in with my skin but also has a gorgeous shimmer to it – especially when I wear my primer underneath. Most days I’ve been finding myself swiping this all over my lid, adding a champagne shimmer to my brow bone, and running out the door. It’s definitely a more nude look than I’m use to but is super fresh for spring!

Benefit’s “They’re Real! Push-Up LinerFor me liquid liner is a daily necessity. Not wearing it makes me look 13 – which is not flattering on anyone. I have been using a brush liner from Maybelline since Junior High so it was a big step for me to switch things up. I love the “They’re Real!” mascara and have heard great things about the liner so I snagged a sample when in Sephora. The brush is definitely a little more difficult to maneuver but the impact is on point! The applicator itself is like a little rubber pen that fills with color when you turn the bottom of the tube. It may take me a while to get steady with my line but I’m already in love with the deep pigment this makes.

NARS “Pure Matte Lipstick in VesuvioI have been on the hunt for a great red lipstick for a while now. One day Eleni from Convey the Moment rocked a perfect red lip on Instagram and she let me know it was this particular shade. After going back-and-forth between Vesuvio + Heat Wave (an orangey-red shade) in Sephora I finally decided that the redder shade worked better for my complexion. The color makes a bold impact and I really enjoy the smaller tube since it’s much easier to apply – especially since red isn’t necessarily a color you can just guess on. The formula does get a little cakey after a while but I usually bring my red Baby Lips chap-stick and throw it over for some moisture (you can see me wearing it here). I’d definitely be interested to try another NARS lipstick in a creamier formula but I still love this one!

Anastasia Dip-Brow Pomade in “Taupe” This has definitely been my #1 product for a while now, and the 2,000+ five-star reviews online agree. Not only is this product super creamy and easy to apply it also is natural-looking and stays on forever. I apply it with an angled lip brush in the morning and know it’ll last me all day. I’ve also had it since summer and still have a ton of product left! The taupe shade works great for my coloring since my brows have always been darker than my hair. I originally went to get the blonde shade but they were unfortunately all out. It may be an investment to pick up once summer gets here and my hair lightens from the sun. If you’re looking for a new brow product this is definitely a keeper.
