Thirsty Thursday is already here! As some of you know I had given up soda for lent. That means I had to find a substitute for my go-to of Whiskey and diet. Recently I’ve been on a gin and tonic kick so once I stumbled across this recipe I knew I had to make it on my own. Not only does it incorporate a lot of great flavors, it also is super refreshing!
The best part about this drink is that you can mix-and-match other fruits to spice things up. I’d love to try a blood orange twist or something with blueberries once the summer rolls around. What’s your favorite twist on a classic drink? Cheers!
Blackberry and Meyer Lemon Gin and TonicsMakes Four Drinks
Ingredients:12 blackberries20 fresh mint leaves2 Meyer lemons (can use regular lemons if you can’t find these)1/4 cup simple syrup12 ounces good quality gin (I used Bombay Sapphire)Tonic waterIce
Directions:1. Pull out four glasses.2. Place three blackberries, five mint leaves, juice of ½ lemon, and 1 tablespoon of simple syrup in each glass and muddle together.
