New Year, New Chapter: Neon Blonde.

Notice something new? Welcome to Neon Blonde. After a long while of contemplating the name change (and several late-night martinis at home) I decided to take the plunge on reinventing this site. When I first started With Love, From Sarah on New Years Day last year I never expected it to turn into what it is now. I saw it as a hobby to work on my photography and writing skills, while having a creative outlet to talk about the things I love the most. These days I feel like it's become such a part of my daily life and it has moved away from just being a few words on the web.

Neon Blonde
Although With Love, From Sarah was a name that I truly loved it was one of those things I cooked up overnight. I wanted something that was more me. Something modern, clean, and easy to follow into different markets. I'd be lying if I said that this new name didn't reflect my trip to Los Angeles directly. Fun fact: the coloring of my header is pulled directly from #thatpinkwall (watch closely to see the light flash as well). It seems crazy, but being in that city just left me feeling insanely inspired and refreshed.

That's what I want this space to feel like.

The neon portion represents everything that's lively and bright - which is what I like to convey in my branding. Neon lights are always buzzing with energy and neon colors represent something so fun and happy. The blonde; well, I've been blonde all my life so it just fits. I love how the name carries through the carefree notion and sums me up in a few words.

Below you can find my new social media handles, so make sure you follow me for even more exciting things coming your way!

I'm so excited to carry this new branding through and share it with you all! I can hardly believe it's only been a year since I started this corner of the web, and I cannot wait to see what 2016 brings. Hopefully more big city trips, champagne bottles, and lots of moments captured. Thank you for sticking with me + joining me on this journey.

P.S. I'm still working out the kinks for the URL and domain registration, so bear with me. It's been numerous hours and late nights looking at DNS zones and CNAMES. I hope to have set up soon enough! In the meantime, you can still access everything with the current URL (and if you have any advice on the transfer, I'll accept it all!).

NYE Beauty

New Years Eve is one of my favorite holidays to get ready for. It combines two of my favorite things: champagne and sparkles! This year I'll be heading into New York City and knew I needed a glam look to follow.

I'll be sticking with my face basics (MUFE foundation, NARS concealer, Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder...) but adding drama when it comes to my eyes. Bring on all of the long lashes, gold glitter eyeliner, and tons of highlighter. If you follow me on Snapchat, you'll see that I'm recently obsessed with the Urban Decay glitter eyeliners. Like, want them in every color obsessed. Try them out and I guarantee you'll be the same way! Here's what else I'll be wearing...

TooFaced Hangover Primer
MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, Y315
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Vanilla
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, Dim Light
NYX Blush, Pinched
Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette
Becca x Jaclyn Hill, Champagne Pop
Anastasia DipBrow Pomade, Taupe
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise, Bette
LORAC Unzipped Gold, Unleashed
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner, Midnight Cowboy
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, Trooper
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Ardell Wispie Lashes
YSL Rogue Pur Couture, 09

What are your NYE plans? Are you heading out or staying in? Even more important, what are you wearing?!

P.S. there's a super exciting announcement coming tomorrow so stay tuned!

What I Wore: L.A. Edition

This post marks my last one from our L.A. trip a few weeks ago - if you missed my travel guide or haul then be sure to check them out! Today I'm laying out a few of my #OOTD from the trip and where you can snag the pieces. As I said before, L.A. is definitely myself in a city and the style is no different. I feel like it's a mix of New York edginess with a bit of laid back surfer vibes. Call it 'boho chic' if you may. It's definitely bittersweet to list these out, but if anything it just means I need to get back!

L.A. Haul

It's hard to believe that my trip to LA was only a few weeks ago. However, i'm so excited to relive the trip over the next two posts! First up, let's talk about my 'souvenirs'. Instead of going for the typical snow globe or shot glass I decided to invest in some pieces that would always remind me of my trip when I put them on. Baseball caps have become one of my new favorite accessories and I've started picking one up at every major city I go to. This royal blue LA Dodgers one has had my eye for a while now and it always makes me think of the sunny weather when I pull it out. I also snagged this California inspired sweatshirt from Topshop to go with the laid back LA vibes. Bonus is that it is seriously so soft! Lastly, once we spotted the Adidas store in Santa Monica there was no turning back. Faith has been on the Tumblr inspired bandwagon for ages and I knew I had to jump on board when we spotted this Los Angeles tee. It's so great to throw under a leather jacket with ripped denim for a casual weekend look.

When it comes to beauty, me and Faith zeroed in on the Charlotte Tilbury counter at the Nordstrom at the Grove. It was my first time being in the same room as the line so I knew some pieces had to come home with me. I have been eyeing the Eyes to Mesmerise cream shadows forever and once I swatched "Bette" it had to be mine. Also in my basket was the CT K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in "Coral Coachella". Although this shade looks great year round, I can't wait to pull it out come summer.

Already on my next shopping list is the Magic Foundation and The Dolce Vida palette. Rumors are that there's a Charlotte Tilbury counter coming to Arlington, so let the countdown begin!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I can't believe this day is already here but I am so excited that it is. This year has been amazing so 2016 has a lot to live up to.

In case you're still looking for a festive playlist, here are some of my top picks for Christmas. Have a great holiday!

Christmas Eve Makeup Look

There's no better time to pull out the classic red lip than the holidays. Add in a glowing and bronzed face, plus long-lasting coverage, and you're set for the parties and non-stop indulging. Normally I focus my makeup all on the eyes and leave the lips pretty neutral. However, Christmas always makes you inch towards something a little more bold.

I'm pulling out some of my favorite pieces today and adding in a few new 'specialty' items. For the base, I'm sticking with my tried and true MUFE HD foundation and all of the highlighter. When it comes to lips, I'm going for the super lasting Sephora lip cream and topping off my eyes with some Kat Von D eyeliner. I love knowing that my makeup will last longer than my glass of spiked egg nog. Here's what I'll be wearing today...

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation, Y315
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Vanilla
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize, Bette
Urban Decay Primer Potion, Sin
NYX Infinite Shadow Stick, Bronze
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, Trooper
Sephora Lip Liner, 3 Classic Red
Sephora Cream Lip Stain, 01 Always Red

What are you pulling out on this holiday eve? Do you go for the classics, or mix it up a bit? Let me know your holiday makeup plans in the comments below! Oh, what fun indeed!

Fall Favorites Tag

As yesterday was the first day of winter, it's the perfect time to recall my favorite items from Fall. One of my besties - and fellow 1D enthusiast - Faith tagged me back in November and I've been excited to put together this post since then!

Favorite Candle: I discovered 'Leaves' by Bath and Body Works and have been burning it nonstop. I actually just hit the bottom last weekend, and am horribly sad about it. It is the perfect rich blend of golden nectar, red apple & spiced berries that just seems to warm up every space. I also love how the scent is not to sweet - considering most B&BW candles are.

Favorite Lip Color: I'm not usually a matte lip girl, but something about the Fall weather makes me stray away from my usual lustre picks. Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in "Smitten" has been my favorite raspberry colored lip hue for years. I love patting it on the lips for a wine-stained color that lasts through many glasses of hot cider. Milani's "Matte Flirty" lipshade is a great choice when I want something a bit deeper. Best part is that both products are super affordable!

Favorite Drink: Chai tea lattes are my jam come Fall. I love how spicy and warm they are, without being that overly sickening sweet pumpkin flavor.

Favorite Blush: I don't tend to switch up my blushes for the season. My NARS "Orgasm" has been my go-to year round, but I am looking to boost my collection a bit. I think a nice sangria shade (circa NARS "Seduction") will need to make its way into my life soon...

Favorite Clothing Item: Vests. Oh, vests. I have definitely had a love affair with this trend over the past few months. They're the perfect way to layer up without feeling too bulky or overheated. I have a feeling i'll continue to rack up some more fur favorites throughout Winter as well.

Favorite Fall Movie: Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus have always been #1 in my book. I remember watching these on the Disney channel growing up, and am happy to see they've stuck around.

Favorite Fall TV Show: Chanel Oberlin may be one of my favorite characters of all time. Although Scream Queens isn't the best show out there, it is definitely the most amusing. Mainly for the fashions and lingo that pops up in each episode. Five-shot half-caf, no foam, pumpkin spice latte with no foam at 210 degrees, anyone?

Favorite Thanksgiving Food: This was a hard one for me. I only recently fell in love with Thanksgiving food a few years ago - I was a picky eater growing up. I would say that Apple Pie a la Mode or Stuffing take the cake for me though.

Favorite Fall Moment: My favorite trip this fall had to be my annual trip to Harrisburg/Hershey with my friend Lydia. We always spend the weekend driving up in the gorgeous foliage, vineyard hopping, watching football, and just escaping from the city. I already can't wait for next year!

Now I want to tag Jordan, Julia, and Daisy to carry on the tradition - this time with Winter favorites. Let me know what yours are! I can't wait to indulge in all of the goodies that are still coming through December and January..

My Favorite Ways to Relax During the Holidays

We all know the holidays can be hectic. Between aggressive shopping malls, time with the family, and traveling near and far, we all need a break. Read on to find three great ideas for day or night off - while keepin' to the festive mood! Best off, I think these three things can also be great to enjoy with other people.

1. Deck the Halls and Indulge

Tis the season to be overly tacky in your home and indulge in all of the chocolate. One of my favorite days of the season is the one where we break out the tubs of Christmas decorations and put them up. We usually whip up some delicious hot chocolate, put on festive music, and snack on some yummy treats. It's always such a warming experience and makes you appreciate the holiday so much more - especially when you add a splash of Baileys in your cup!

For decorating snacks, Trader Joes is my favorite spot to pick up holiday treats. They always have a rotation of delicious chocolates - and I'm a sucker for anything peppermint. Their mint creams and chocolate covered pretzels are way too delicious to be accessible. Calories don't count on the holidays, right? Bring on the whipped cream.

2. Have a Mini Spa Day

As the temperatures drop my desire for all things warm rise. My second favorite way to relax during the holidays is to pour a nice bath (I may or may not have had one on both days this weekend). I'll usually pop on a fresh face mask and drop a bath bomb in the tub - both from Lush. The Rosy Cheeks mask is my all-time favorite, but I'm currently loving the Oatifix one. It's super hydrating and smells exactly like banana bread. I dare you not to want to eat it.

After the bath I always slather on some lovely smelling hand cream to ensure my hands don't get battered from the cooler air. My current favorite cream is Hand Food from Soap and Glory. I'm very sensitive about hand cream - as I don't like the feeling of greasy hands - and the creamy formula is one of my favorites. It also doesn't hurt that it's with their original Pink fragrance, so my hands are left smelling delicious.

3. Share Some Cheer + Watch a Holiday Flick

Although I am horrible at putting together Christmas cards I do love receiving them. There's something just so special about seeing a letter in your mailbox and knowing it was sent from a loved one. I usually like to stock up on my Christmas letters and read them all at once - usually in some flannel PJs and fuzzy socks. Add in a classic Christmas movie and it's the perfect night in! My favorites are Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, Elf, and The Holiday. However, a great chick flick is also always a great choice. Does anyone else remember John Tucker Must Die? GOLDEN.

If you're like me and are super forgetful when it comes to sending cards then you can use the night to call loved ones or even Skype them. Don your best red lip and make it a friend date!

What is your favorite way to relax during the holidays? Do you have a top Christmas movie you always love to watch? Let me know in the comments below!

Weekly Favorites (and an Instagram Roundup) | 12.18.15.

I'm baaaaaack! The past two weeks have been a nice hiatus and a chance to unplug a bit. I feel like the holiday season is always super busy. Between Thanksgiving, friends visiting, a trip to LA, and other busy weekends I've been constantly on the move. However, this past weekend gave me a chance to finally catch up on all of the things I've been pushing to the side of my to-do list.

To be frank, I am totally not in the holiday spirit this year. I have a feeling this is due to the fact that it was 70 degrees out last weekend and we didn't get a Christmas tree in our apartment. With even looking at the recap below, I'm like - oh, this is September right? Wrong. I've been trying to make up for the lack of Feliz Navidad-ness by consuming all of the peppermint hot chocolate and marshmellows lately. Some people are basic for pumpkin. Me? Peppermint is my life.

Off topic now - I blame it on the champagne - I'm super excited to get back into the swing of things and get some content out the door and onto these blank pages. I've invested in SO many great things these past few weeks and are so excited to see what Father Christmas brings! Annnnndddddd I've been watching too many British vlogs...

Fresh lemonade from Joan's - so good!

Eyeliner | Lipstick | Jacket - sold out but here in blue!

The BEST Oyster brunch from Grillfish. Be sure to get the crab cake Benedict! | Sunglasses - old, similar | Phone Case

A Christmas bar in DC (try the "Francisco, that's fun to say!")

Here are some other things I've been loving lately...
  • I missed a great opportunity to put this mini speaker on my wishlist. The marble casing is just gorgeous!
  • A leopard fur coat is on my wishlist and this one is under $90!
  • This party makeup tutorial seems so simple and gorgeous - perfect for the holidays
Hope you all have had a great weekend! Now, let the countdown to Christmas begin...
